Isn't it something to know that if you don't have faith in what you are asking God to do, that you should not expect it to happen....Wow...Let's have faith in our God and watch him move on your behalf....

If we lack wisdom God will give it to us. We don't have to be confused or lost for direction. God loves us and wants the best for us. He is willing to lead and guide us if we would only have FAITH!

Over the last 3 years I learned we must have Faith. I use to wonder why things did not happen when I prayed for them, I soon realized that I would say well it not going to happen because xyz ect... I now know that it was not God but me speaking doubt over what I was asking God to do for me. I am realizing to this day how much power is in the tongue and that I have to believe that God will give me what I ask for if I have FAITH and if it is the will of God.

Okay so I have The Bible and I have a dictionary. The dictionary says,"faith, firm belief in something for which there is no proof. NO PROOF??? NO PROOF??? So yall know, I know which book to throw down. James' advice is clear and straight to the point. Even though it's written as a letter it's more instructions for daily living. It's EZ. IN JESUS" NAME.

First of all, this is awesome and I look forward to the growth and unity that can blossom from this online forum especially amongst people like me who don't necessarily like being up-front James 2 slapped me in the face from the first scripture. Specifically about judging people based solely on how they look or their background. Funny how being born and raised in the hood I developed a prejudice against it. I avoid stores with no national franchise, I judge people based on the style of their apparel, and I disassociate myself from loud obnoxious people in public places and get embarrassed/frustrated if they're acting what I would consider, "ghetto/hood". I'm not openly rude and I don't speak to them in a condescending manner but as the scripture said I'd be quick to offer an open seat to someone who looks put together than someone who doesn't !

Life and death is in the power of the tongue. Such a small part of our body, but my goodness the tongue can destroy nations! Speak life....additionally I believe The Lord is also saying that we should deal and handle "small" issues immediately we they come up or when we encounter them. If you don't deal with them immediately they can become a lot "bigger" and then you really have some major problems on your hands. Don't sweep it under the rug, handle it now!

I have heard the scripture many times that faith without works is dead, but it truly resonated with me this time around. Claiming to be a Christian brings a lot of responsibility. If we claim we are a people of faith it is important that we put that faith to action. We do this by spending time in prayer, reading the word, fasting and intercession. Being a Christian means nothing if we are not living and working to cultivate an intimacy with The Lord and trying to draw non-believers to the same love and intimacy with Christ.

"Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness."
Taming the tongue, if we don't have anything nice to say then don't say it all. Gossip hurts, lies hurts and it separates us which gives the enemy a chance to walk in and destroy relationships and friendships. Let's live life peacefully, being kind to one another even the ones who aren't kind to us. Living a Holy life that is characterized by how we treat others, being gentle, being merciful, and not being two - faced. Getting rid of hate and evil ambitious to make ourselves look good. It's crazy how we can't manipulate God or trick Him, He knows everything we do and if we're being genuine.

I read James 4 today and I read the KJV and the NIV and something that stood out was in the NIV and it as James 4:2&3; You have not because you do not ask God. 3: When you ask, you do not receive, because you as with the wrong motives. Do you think that we do not receive because it is not in Gods will? I know I have prayed for things to happen that have not happened and I think they did not happen because it was not in Gods plan for me. 6: made me check myself to know that I need to be more humble, that could be stepping up in the church, praying and fasting more and that if I do these things more then I would be submitting myself to God and this would cause the devil to flee. Humbling yourself before the Lord will cause the Lord to lift you up, we all fall and need God to lift us up. The Book of James has so much food for the soul and I am learning more things the 2nd time reading James. Be Blessed.

What I have learnt from James is that, genuine faith transforms lives. We must put our faith in Christ into action. It is easy to say we have faith, but true faith will produce loving actions toward others. Our faith must not be mere head knowledge, but it must also be lived out by heart actions. We have to live what we believe.
